1. What tips would you give to someone looking for the right franchise?
My top tips for someone looking for the right franchise is to ask yourself the right questions. Consult with yourself about what you want out of a franchise, how involved you want to be, how much time you want to spend, how much money you are willing to invest, and how you plan to exit.

2. What are the top three things to consider before you buy a franchise?
First, make sure the business model makes sense in your market, and the returns you expect can be met realistically. Then, talk to other franchisees. Also, if possible, identify and list the business’ day-to-day operations in all departments. Ensure the franchise offers a complete set of systems to help streamline the operation in all areas, and roleplay those systems to determine if they are practical and applicable to what will become your reality. This is also a good opportunity to test the level of support offered by the franchise, as you should involve them heavily during this discovery period.

3. How much time to do you need to invest to be an iTAN franchisee?
That depends on the systems you have in place, and what you’d like to delegate. You may want to be an owner operator and be there all the time. However, with the proper systems (and personnel) in place to sustain each area of responsibility, an owner can detach themselves partially or entirely if they wish.

4. What does it take to run a successful franchise location?
In order to run a successful franchise location, focus on executing on the brand the way the franchisor intended by following the systems. This ensures the consistent customer experience that was intended by the brand, no matter what store they visit, which will in the long term benefit the franchisee.
