Posted on July 1st, 2015

Adios June Gloom, and hello sunny July! We’re thrilled to enjoy the gorgeousness that a Southern California summer has to bring. Bikini season is the best time to showcase all the effort you made by spending extra time at the gym or exercising outdoors during winter and spring. This year, we stumbled upon some unexpected swimsuit trends and decided to share them with you. Enjoy!

High-Waisted Swimsuit Bottoms

aSure, teeny tiny bottoms will never go out of style but this year high-waisted swimsuit bottoms are back. Not so coincidentally, The New York Times found that the sales of thongs have decreased by 7 percent in the last year, while the sales of fuller styles such as briefs and boy shorts have grown by 17 percent. As it turns out, comfort and style can go together!

Into the Wild b
Animal prints, including leopard, cheetah and zebra prints are bringing the jungle to the ocean. iTAN Partner La Rouge is a Southern California-based swimwear brand that allows you to select your favorite fabric swatches and designs to create bespoke swimwear. The most wild trend of the season? We think so!

Poolside Chic

cIt’s hard to look elegant poolside without fancy shoes or jewelry. This season, your problems are solved with monochrome swimwear. A step away from colorful prints and florals, monochrome swimwear is a simple solution for poolside class.

Strap It Up d
Although Fifty Shades of Grey was one of the most popular movies of the year, we were not expecting the movie’s strappiness to make it to the beach. We’re liking the multiple straps in 2015; especially this one-piece from Anthropologie.

Dare to Bare

Crops tops recently made their way back from the 90s to become a staple for dare-to-bare casual wear. However, at the beach, crop tops are a great way to cover up or add ae different silhouette to your swimwear collection.

Take a Zip

Fashion Stylist Lisa Marie Fernandez has been making swimwear with zippers since 2009, but in 2015 they can be found in almost any swimwear line. In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, she said that the biggest appeal of a zipper is having a “Bond-girl effect.”f
