iTAN Franchisee Michel Mikse started as an iTAN employee in 2001 and currently owns and operates three successful locations. Together, we delved into the franchisee benefits he has experienced since joining the iTAN Franchising, Inc. family.
1. Can you give us an overview of how you became involved with iTAN? Which franchise locations do you currently operate?
I became involved with iTAN before I owned one. I worked briefly at the Encinitas, Calif. location after its grand opening in 2001, and subsequently at the San Diego State University location while I was attending college. I graduated from Engineering School in 2003, and after encountering a difficult job market, I explored the idea of opening a business instead. Shortly thereafter, iTAN Founder & CEO Faraje Kharsa and I discussed the possibility of me becoming an iTAN franchisee. I opened my first location in Poway, Calif. in 2004, then my second one in San Diego’s Clairemont Mesa neighborhood in 2006. In 2009, I opened my third one in El Cajon, Calif. I currently own and operate all three locations.
2. How does iTAN fit your business needs?

3. How has iTAN successfully helped you manage your franchise locations through training, marketing, etc.?
iTAN has provided me with a complete and up-to-date collection of tools and systems that are effective, organized, and easy to understand and follow. In addition, these systems are always available to franchisees, including me, through iTAN University, an extensive education system that provides my new and current team members with initial and ongoing training on all these subjects.
4. What advice would you give an entrepreneur who is interested in joining the iTAN franchise?
If you join, you will be part of a system that is always evolving, and therefore always well positioned to continuously cater to the current needs of the market. It does so through extensive collaboration and feedback from franchisees and their entire team, industry experience and involvement, as well as the analysis of ongoing industry and consumer trends and behavior.
